The MIB Life Index released their latest US Insurance Activity report on July 11, outlining a 1.1% increase in application activity in June 2016.

U.S. application activity for individually underwritten life insurance was up 1.1% in June year-over-year, all ages combined, according to the MIB Life Index. June’s end marks the eighth consecutive quarter of expansion for the MIB Life Index and shows the Index climbing back to levels slightly above those observed in Q2 2012. For Q2 2016, the composite Index was up 1.5% year-over-year, somewhat off pace from Q1’s 5.4%. For the first six months of 2016, the MIB Life Index is up 3.4% YTD. June’s application activity was just slight off pace (-1.0%) from that of May, exhibiting normal seasonality.
